How to Register with Beam (Superannuation Clearing House)

Learn how to register your business with Beam, the integrated superannuation clearing house in Myaccountant. Follow these simple steps to complete your setup and start paying employee super securely and on time.

Before You Begin: Complete Your Business Profile

Before registering with Beam, make sure your business details are complete in Myaccountant. This ensures the registration process goes smoothly.

  1. Go to Settings (Top-right corner menu)
  2. Check the following sections:
    • Contact Details: Ensure your name, email, and phone number are filled in.
    • Business Details: Complete your legal business name and address.
    • ABN: Enter your Australian Business Number (ABN).
    • Bank Details: Add your business bank account info — this is used for super refunds if needed.

Step-by-Step: How to Register with Beam

  1. Open Integrations
    • Click the menu icon (top-right corner).
    • Select Integrations from the dropdown.
  2. Start the Registration
    • On the Beam integration card, click Register.
    • You’ll be redirected to Beam’s secure registration form.
  3. Complete Your Business Details
    • Review the pre-filled business info.
    • Complete any missing fields, then click Next.
  4. Choose Your Payment Method
    • You’ll be asked if you want to enable Direct Debit.
      • ✅ Select it now to allow automatic payments.
      • ❌ Or leave it unchecked if you prefer BPAY/EFT later.
    • Click Next to continue.
  5. Nominate a Default Super Fund
    • You must nominate a default fund for employees who haven’t chosen their own.
    • Option 1: Click Select Australian Retirement Trust to create a default account with ART.
    • Option 2: Type your fund’s name and click Search to find it.
    • Select your fund from the list, then click Next.
  6. Accept Terms & Conditions
    • Carefully read Beam’s terms and conditions.
    • Tick the checkbox to accept, then click Next.
  7. Complete the Registration
    • Once registration is complete, click Back to Myaccountant to return to the platform.
    • You’ll now see a “Connected” status on the Beam integration card.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Don’t skip setup: Missing contact, ABN, or bank details will prevent successful registration.
  • Default fund required: You must select a default fund before using Beam to process super.
  • Direct debit saves time: It’s the easiest and most error-free way to make super payments.
  • Use secure bank details: Refunds for unpaid contributions will go to your nominated account.
