Setting Your ATO Branch Code

Overview

Your ATO branch code must match what's registered with the ATO for STP reporting to work correctly. You can look up your branch code through the ATO's online services, then enter it in Myaccountant under ATO Settings.

The branch code is a three-digit number used by the ATO to identify different branches of your business under the same ABN. This code must match your ATO records for STP (Single Touch Payroll) submissions to be accepted.

How to Find Your ATO Branch Code:

  1. Log in to your ATO Online Services or Online Services for Business.
  2. Navigate to: Tax > Accounts > Tax accounts.
  3. Look under the Activity Statement section
    • Your branch code is the three-digit number that appears just before the account name. For example, in "001

How to Set or Update Your Branch Code in Myaccountant:

  1. Click the menu icon (three dots) in the top-right corner of your Myaccountant dashboard and select Settings.
  2. From the side menu, click on ATO Settings.
  3. Click the Edit button.
  4. Enter your Branch Code in the format 00x (e.g., 001, 002, etc.).
  5. Click Update to save your changes.
