How to Override Auto-Calculated Tax and Super in Myaccountant
Overview
Learn how to manually override tax and super amounts during a pay run in Myaccountant. This is useful when you need to adjust automatic calculations for bonuses, termination payments, or special cases.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the Employee’s Pay Record
- Go to Payroll > Pay Runs.
- Select the relevant pay run.
- Click the employee’s name to open their pay record.
- Review Auto-Calculated Tax and Super
- Myaccountant automatically calculates tax withholding and superannuation based on pay items, employee details, and configured settings.
- You’ll see the calculated amounts displayedunder the pay summary.
- Override Tax and Super Amounts
- Click the Edit Tax and Super button located at the bottom of the employee’s pay screen.
- In the popup:
- To override tax, enter the desired value in tax field.
- To override super, enter the desired value in the Super field.
- Click Update to apply your changes.
The overridden amounts will replace the auto - calculated values in this pay run only.
- Proceed with Finalising Pay Run
- Once you’ve overridden and reviewed the amounts, you can continue to finalise the pay run as usual.
- The adjusted tax and super will be used for STP submission and payslip generation.
Tips:
- Use this feature for termination payments, bonus tax adjustments, or when following external payroll advice.
- Only use overrides when you’re confident the adjustment is correct.
- Overrides are not permanent—they apply to the current pay run only.
